(TheSpread) – Juan Pablo Montoya isn’t a real consistent driver, but does he have the ability to earn a pair of wins in the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season?

Montoya landed 17^th in the point standings in the 2010 season. He managed to get one victory and win three poles on the year.

Montoya has been driving full time for four years and has just two victories in that time. Both came on the road courses, which NASCAR competes on two different road courses each year.

One stat that has been getting better for Montoya, is his starting spot. After averaging a start of more than 20 in his first two years, his average starting spot was 12.8 in 2009 and 11.6 in 2010.

With Montoya qualifying well, it opens the door for him to contend in more races and he does appear to be getting slightly better as his NASCAR career prolongs. When it comes to road races, there really isn’t many better than Montoya in the Sprint Cup series. It is completely possible he could sweep those two races and get his two wins there. It may be a risky pick, but the door is open for Montoya to double up his career wins in 2011.
